CD Changer Problem
Hi, would anyone know the correct way to install a 12 disc CD changer for my 2001 SS convertible. There are 3 brackets for the correct GM installation. One goes underneath of the changer and attaches to the chassis with screws. This bracket attaches to the rear holes of the side brackets with a stud screw on the right side facing up with a bolt and the left side (Rear of car) with a guide hole for the rubber gramite from the side bracket. My question is has anyone drilled into the chassis for the other two side bracket holes with any problems? I don’t want to drill anything before I find out if there is any wiring or problems related to doing this.
Thank you for any help

Is this the same as how they came from the factory? If so, my CD changer has two brackets on the side of it. There's one bracket that was welded to the floor. You slide one part of the floor bracket into the holes of the CD changer bracket, and there's a screw that comes up from the floor bracket and you use a nut to secure that side of the CD changer.
The factory one is welded. IDK if it's safe to screw into it.
