    Alarm

I have a 2000 SS camaro and every time I lock the doors with the remote or the switch inside the car the car goes off shortly after. If I lock the doors by hand the alarm won’t go off. If anyone knows what is wrong please tell me.

I'm thinking the alarm shock sensor in the spare tire area is going bad - try unplugging it temporarily and see if it stops. I'm ashamed to admit that I don't know if locking the car with the key only or by hand sets the alarm system - never tried it.

I'll give that a try, thanks for the reply. If this don't work I'm just going to have a after market alarm put on it.

If it's the shock sensor just replace it - easy, just plugs in and attached on the wheel well with double sided tape.

OK, had to check cause it's been bugging me. When I lock my car with the manual switch or the key the little red light on the dash doesn't come on - so probably not arming the system.

When I lock the door with the switch or the key chain the light comes on in the dash. Then the alarm goes off almost immediatly.

You are the man, I unplugged the sensor and I locked the door with the key chain and it hasn't gone off yet.
