P1416 code right? It's the black disc shaped valve in between the metal air pipe coming off the front of the manifold, then connects to the air hose with a clamp. It's right above the cyl #4 coil.

i am having a hard time getting the valve off. are there any tricks? the hose is on there very tight. i think what i am going to have to do is take the metal tube off if the engine to the valve off of that side. when i tried to unscrew it, it started to bend the tube. thanks.

Unclamp the hose and remove it from the valve. Use two wrenches to unscrew the valve from the metal pipe, one to hold it steady and the other to unscrew it. If you still can't get it unbolt the two bolts and remove it from the car and do it on a bench or in a vice. There's a gasket under the two bolts (GM PN 12553617, cheap from the dealer) in case it tears, but probably will be fine. If you remove the pipe don't overtorque the two bolts when you reinstall it, remember it being pretty low - I'll look it up and post.
