    1 1/2 din head unit

so i go get a quote for a sound system for the ta , i tell them that i would like to have a double din put in if possible, we continue talkin about options and so and one of the techs at the place where i always have my auto electronics done tells me that he's seen a 1 1/2 din touch screen before, i want to know if any of you have even seen one of these if so how do they look, and what brand was it

I don't think theres such a thing as a 1 1/2 h.u. There where some made by pioneer but is not a touchscreen and only plays cds, so not much of an upgradre from the stock one. There are some single din units that have a big screen that sticks out of the unit making it kinda like a din and half unit. but they are cheap units from japan. ANd then theres one from walmart that has a navigation system, and tons of stuff google vr3 indash dvd receiver!

Not exactly what you were looking for, but as I was searching I ran across this guys site that put a 7" screen in his T/A. It looks pretty awesome. IMO.

This is something I haven't seen before. It's a single din unit that has a larger screen that sits further out than usual.

Do a search for it to find one.

Good Grief. The one above is a 5.8" screen.

This one is a 7" screen.
