the yellow top is for if your going to be running high powered amps, subs, shit like that, itll also allow you to leave the car off and playing shit longer without the battery dying, if your running the stock spoeakers and all the red top is fine, thats wut i have, and usually the yellow is more exppensive?!?! not sure why the red is more expensive where your looking, i paid 130 for my red top and the yellow top was 180 where i looked

When my original battery died, I found I couldn't use the Optimas because of the location of the terminals. The positive and negative terms were reversed, and either the positive or negative wouldn't reach. Short of putting on completely new cables, how did you work around that?

I agree with Sarge. The NAPA battery is a great deal. I have one in my goat too.
Speaking of Optima batteries... I just swapped out my Red top from my '03 S-10 Crew into the old lady's '03 S-10 Ext. cab. Her's was getting weak. My truck has a plow, so I tried out the Yellow top. It handles the load nicely when I raise the blade up. The Red top stuggled a bit with repeated use of the plow going up and side to side. Sucks that the Yellow top only comes with a 1 year free replacement warranty. $175 a pop could get pricey.
BTW, Merry Christmas to all!

isn't the yellow top a deep cycle battery?
-

It's a dual purpose battery. Deep cycle and high cranking power.
The Optima Blue top is a deep cycle marine battery.

Here's a site that has a lot of good info about Optima Batteries.
Dimensions, weights, terminal layouts, FAQ's.

Yellow top if you plan on running sounds. Not just a amp on 6x9's either.
Red top is still going to give you more power than the stock you have now.
I have customers that run the Napa's Sarge is referring to also with no problems out here in the desert heat.Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!
