You can buy 06 GTO M6s for 18k with 20-40k miles Its only 2 years later.

Called the "curve".....when any car is at 3-4 year mark it is at the bottom of the curve....then it starts going back up.....not rocket science....

Did my research
After reading this thread I decided to do a little research, especially since I did not agree with the comments from the originator. Here is the deal, I have an 05 yellow goat M6, totally stock, paid $25k w/3300 miles on odometer. I bought the car a little over a year ago. A few months ago a co-worker started looking for GTOs on Autotrader and his first comments to me were that he thought my car went up in value since I bought it... Surprised I had him send me the internet link and I checked for myself. Indeed my car seemed to have increased in value; we could not find one similar that was less then $25k, and all of them had more mileage. A few factors could be at play, color for one; in the past I had a yellow C4 vette that held its value incredibly, people were trying to outbid each other for the car when I was finally selling it, the main reason was it was a yellow 6-spd and for my year only about 200 were made. For the GTO only about 489 yellow 2005 6-spds (LS2) exist on the planet. The other factor could be my location in the country, Boston area North East.
So for the facts, I looked again on Autotrader today, once again I find a car like mine (2005 M6 - $26995) with more then double the miles for $2000 more then what I paid... In fact the entire first page of GTOs (25) were over $25k. To say that GTOs are losing value rings untrue, on the contrary they appear to going up in value as people realize what a great vehicle they are. The popularity of the G8 will also increase GTO values. see link

Finally, not sure why an LS1 guy is posting this anyway, seems like he was trying to rip on the GTO guys for some reason???
