Speed Density IS OLD SCHOOL COMPUTER SH_T!!!!
It is a equation that the computer figures off of pre set table values on multiple sensors...... It is before they came up with a mass air flow sensor.......
Basically if you have a speed density set-up and do some mods on the motor it can NOT compinsate for those changes UNLESS you go back in the programming and change the values on the different tables.
Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

SD tuning still has it's place, especially with FI, a maf will eventually max out.
SD is mainly for race cars but we do tune a lot of street cars this way and gain approx 10 - 15 hp over a maf.

What if you got a bigger Maf sensor with its proper table...I know the GM one is good for about 600hp...But lets say i have a 100mm MAF sensor, could i gain a little on a 400hp engine?

If you run a bigger maf, yes you can make more power, as far as i know the Maf on your vehicle is the biggest you can get, should be good for around 450-470 hp atw, any FI engines I do I tune in SD, Had turbo's and a few s/c engines driving around for sometime now on sd tunes and have no problems, if time is spent on setting up the sd tune correctly you won't have any problems, if the tuner does not have experience with tuning in sd he will tell you that going sd is a waste of time, as a tuner sd can do your head in at times but as i said once set up it make awesome smooth power and be reliable.
Check on the Australian LS1 forum and see how many of the people on there run s/c engines with maf's, almost none, and most of them run sd tunes with and without cam changes.
