IIRC, LSx motors come with iridium plugs and they are NGK from the factory.

The original spark plugs arent NGK. They are AC DELCO, which is GM's plug...... unless somebody swapped AC's into my car and the manual is wrong which states a 41-985 ac delco plugs goes into our engines.

Mine were iridium and were ac delco. That part number is a platinum tip. Don't doubt that that plug was the "standard" one though hsince it's good for 100,000 miles

The main thing is many cars left the factory with mis-matching gaps on plugs. Different cars had different plugs depending on when they went down the line. The factory seemed to change parts all the time down there. lol

From experience, I know that lots of early 04s dynoed 10-20 rwhp low because of this. ...the main thing to do if you still have factory plugs is to pull thenm and re-gap them.

I was shocked to see these cars dont have a servicable fuel filter. Says the filter must be changed with the pump? WTF??

I did not know that, but im a newbie to the GTO. Thats kinda lame I changed my fuel filter on my z28 every 20k or so but it was no biggy it was as easy as changing the oil filter after a doing it a few times.

If your car is stock just cross them over GM plugs,NGK or Autozone sells a iridium plug they all work great in the GTO.

I have to disagree mine had GM delco they were iridiums from GM,I change mine twice a year,regardless..best performance is my goal, gaps, plugs wires change em every year ,look at it this way the summer heat will kill those wires not to mention all the heat from the header/manifolds with under hood heat.,NGK plugs come with 2 year warrantee,MSD wires have a year.
