Torque Management??
I'm looking at GTO's again and heard that their traction control is a sort of torque management system and that its a pain to tune out. Is this true, and what have you guys done?

Not really....you can tune it all out or tune it "down".....Mine is totally tuned out by Allen Nelson and HP Tuners...I have zero TM....

Traction control is a seperate entity which you either leave on or switch off. Torque mgt. is a hinderence but as Sarge stated, it can be tuned out. My tm is minimal through the predator handheld and what a world of difference it makes.

Tune it out or get a reprogrammed TCM to remove it and add a SEG.

Whoever told you that is confused! Have it removed when you get it tuned which is easy for a tuner or remove it yourself with a quality hand held tuner.
It's no big deal. With the A4 auto cars it is just a way for GM to baby the tranny for there warr. bullshit.
I have MANY cars out there on 150+ of nitrous and drag radials with it removed and have not had one break yet.Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

Rubber mounted 2 piece driveshaft? apperently i need to take a better look at this car do they have replacement shafts that you buy? sounds like my z3 but my z3 hasn't nearly the hp this car has.

Yeah it was a cheap and effective way for them to elimnate a vibration issues.
You talk about flex...It's basically 2 rubber motor mounts mounted to both front and rear yokes in a triangle. So the driveshaft and the yoke are NOT mounted to eachother but to the same piece of rubber.
I'll try to post some pics for you. I had some on here but I deleted them before I found the real way to post pics without storing them.

Replaced with a 3.5" alum. 1 piece shaft with the big 3550 U-joints from Inland Empire Driveline.

With HP Tuners, it's a breeze. Simple multiplication by a percentage to tone it down, or multiply by 0.
