    Thinking about a GTO

Right now I'm driving an 01 WS.6 but I've always liked the GTO's. How do they compare to the F bodys? I've heard they have a more refined interior and seem to be over all a higher quality car. Is this true? Is an LS2 GTO an upgrade coming from a Fbody?

    Thumbs up

I've owned a 94 Z28, a 94 C4, and 99SS prior to owning my current 05 GTO. The GTO interior is by far the nicest of the bunch, including the vette. The seats in the GTO are outstanding, I get compliments on the back seats as well. The GTO was manufactured with most of the aftermarket bolt ons that are comon in the F-body community, larger brakes, progressive spring rates, etc. the 400 hp LS2 is a dream motor that is also going into the new Camaro coming out next year. It handles very well and also has IRS. Go for it, you won't be dissapointed.

    Thumbs up Yes

    Yes it's true!

The LS2 is a TQ monster and pulls much harder in my opinion.

And as already stated it has the nicest interior GM has ever done. The car rides soooooo much better than the F-bodys.

    So my answer is YES.

Go test drive a LS2 Goat and you'll NEVER look back. A A4 LS2 Goat with mufflers, tune, and a nitrous kit will go 11's on stock tires ALL day. The 6 speed are more fun on the street but the A4's are faster on the track.

    My 2 cents take it or leave it. . . . . . . . . . . .
Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

After owning two 4th gen f-bodys and riding and driving all the 4th gens my buddies have owned i have a good comparison for the 05 M6 GTO my buddy bought about 4 months ago. The GTO's interior, ride, and overall quality of materials and craftsmanship is far above any f-body I've been around. The interior is also nicer than my buddy's 07 Vette. I thought about getting myself a GTO but I don't think I'd want to hear my friends mouth on how I bit his style. But if I had the choice, I would get an LS2 M6 GTO.

I bought my '04 A4 in August of 2004. Wife took it so I bought myself a 2005 M6. Not being a fan of rowing the gears, I sold it after one year. I replaced the 2005 M6 with a 2006 A4. Although the '05-06s are faster, I still find the '04 to be my favorite, and if I had to let one go, (which would require serious dire straits), it would be the 2006. IMO, LS1>LS2. I own both and I'm not one to argue with other's opinions, that's just mine. I also think the car is better in slushbox form. Again, that's MY opinion.

    Either way, Get a GOAT!!!

Check out ls1gto.com and look in the cars for sale section. Some good deals to be had.

    2000 Z28 A4 Red

I have a GTO and an Fbody and would not get rid of either. That being said For a driver I would much prefer to drive the GTO because of its ride, interior etc. Only bad thing I can say about it is get intimate with you local pontiac dealer. Local parts stores carry very few items for it outside of drivetrain parts shared with other models.
