Should I buy this GTO?
I am in the market for a GTO an this one caught my eye for the price. It is listed on autotrader and cars. On autotrader it does not say anything abot being a rebuilt title. But on cars it says rebuilt under exterior color. Anyways would you buy this for the price? Or would you offer the dealer lower since it is rebuilt (if so what price)?

Just let me hear your thoughts on whether or not to buy this car.
Thanks

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
I would snatch it up. Ask if "rebuilt under exterior color" means the car's factory paint issues were rectified. GTOs were known for peeling paint on the door handles, front and rear bumper covers.
extreme dimensions, driveshaft shop, harrop, hid(35watt/6k) lows, hurst, k&n, led fogs, maverick man, mishimoto, nitto, revshift, slp, stern st-1, smoked sidemarkers, whiteline poly radius rod bushings

Like Cosmos said - run a cafax. That price is about half what there going for...
It may have been the hitter or hittee in an accident as far as I'm concerned, once the unibody is bent you can never get aligned properly again.
If it's close by make sure you look at the tread to determine how it's worn.
if the interior is red it's 1 - 344 for 2004. I'm color blind...

It is half price for a reason. I doubt the monkeys at the Used Car place is gonna tell you that reason. Does it have saw dust in the rear end? Something is bad wrong with it.

Thats' funny, Yea I know at any time I make a hard shift--- what's going to happen, so far I have been lucky and have thought many times why I did not get the auto. Getting to old to shift all the time, but most of my cars, trucks have been standard. Man the price on that GTO is scary there must be a big problem some where and I hope he gets to the bottom of it. Take care, Jack

I had to go built A4 this time as I kept spilling my beer. So difficult to drink and drive these days with all the potholes and speed bumps etc.

Okay so before I would give them the cash, I should:
1. Get a carfax
2. Take the car to the body shop and have them check the car out.
(Need help on what to specifically look for?)
3. Do all the other normal stuff in a test drive
Did I leave anything out?

The Carfax is the most important thing and take it to a mechanic you trust, don't get hurt, something is not right. Take the guys that have responded advice, they know!

I ran a carfax (been shopping for a C5) and it has a salvaged title, was in crash with the first owner and was totalled and the odometer looks rolled back to the carfax. Also shows signs of title washing.
