i have a 04 goat a4 that i race 3 times a week.the shifter was squeaking on up shift and finally stopped.now when i push or release the brake there is a clicking noise under the shifter button.kinda clicks like a solenoid does.only the brake pedal makes it do it.shifts fine.any help

there is a small soeinoid right in front of the shifter that releases when you push the breakpedal and unlocks the shifter so you can move it out of park

kinda figured it was a solenoid clicking but what is making it click everytime the brakes are touched?it clicks in all gear positions.kinda loud and annoying

breake switch triggers it...i dont have mine anymore...took it out
