    Replacement Key

I have heard and done some research that a replace ment key is going to be very expensive. First, how do I even get a replacement key since my GTO only came with one key?

buy new key fob off of ebay... go to dealer and have them cut you a new key and program the key fob. They have to send out for the new key though, so it takes a few weeks. Idk what the dealer would charge for this.

ACtually the dealer(if they know what they are doing) can scan the cars computer and get the code they need for the key or something like that. wheres the write up for the fob? i am interested in that cause i need to get me a new fob for my car.

Mine didnt cost me that much from the chevy dealer, 30 for a regular key and 60 for a key to start the car with the chip.

yea I saw that too, it just takes a while. But for saving the $$ its a neat little trick....last time I checked ebay the uncut keys and fobs were around $89.95 from one of those ebay power seller stores...funds are low now otherwise I'd be buying another too (mine also only came w one)

Good call I'm not sure on that...I've had a dealer cut keys before (nissan not pontiac) but I thought they could do it
