    Racing seats??

    I know mark has them.

questions for you all (including mark)

did you find that you sit lower in the car after installing them??? Also, what kind of brackets did you go with??

im looking at some cheapo summit seats and was just curious about seat height, weight etc. i know our stockers are around 60+ lbs or 80+ (cant remember) a piece, was it worth it you think??

    thanks,

    kyle

I went with the cheap Summit seats, got the covers, and glued thick carpet pading to the seats before I put the covers on... I'm 5'6", 160 lbs and think they are very comfortable.
I used a set of porche sliders and made my own mounting brackets so the new seats sit right off the floor (maybe 4-5" lower than stock.

I also removed the airbag system and stock seatbelts and went with 5 point harnesses.

Pulled the airbag led in the gauge cluster

nice, i was hoping i could get lower with them, I LOVE my car, with the exception of the high seat height, always have felt it was too high. plus, i might be one of the few people on earth that dont think the GTO seats are comfortable. shh

I didn't like the factory seats either...do you have a welder, sawzall and grinder? If so its a pretty easy job to make the mounts and brackets.

I made the mounting tabs to bolt to the factory holes in the floor, then used 1/2" square tubing to make a box frame to bolt the seat to.
