Oh no... Inside of tire wearing away
A few weeks ago I rubbed the curb with my front passenger tire, it scratched the rim a little bit but everything seemed fine. Looked tonight at tire and saw that it is wearing excessively in inside of tire, another few hundred miles it might wear thru.
Is the alignment that sensitive to a curb rub (never had that before), is it the alignment? I am planning on rotating rear to front but I need it fixed, can I get a one wheel alignment?
Thanks...

Depending on how fast you were going, the alignment can go out. Have your alignment checked. Hopefully it is just misaligned and not suspension related...which can be more expensive.

Is it just the one tire that you hit the curb with or both fronts?

Make sure you take the car to someone thats done a rear alignment on a GTO before When I got mine done it was all f*cked up and wore the rear tires to shit! thank god I had my 18's sitting around and had a BMW dealership do the alignment for me the 2nd time and has been fine ever since. The rear is tricky to get right from what I understand.

check the inside sidewall of that passenger tire too and make sure it's not rubbing the strutt up there.....I bet it is a little.

No problem, yeah just take it to someone who has done 4 wheel alignment cuz if your thrust angle is messed up your car will pull to one side and where the shit out of your tires like said before lol

Thanks all, I do not see any strut rub on the inside of the tire. I did not take it in this weekend because I don't have my new tires yet and I want to do a little more research now on who to take the car to.

Sounds like a toe issue then...which is common.

Sounds like you are right on, my local alignment guy said he thinks it's a toe issue especially since I rubbed the curb on that side.
He also said you can't adjust the caster on these cars unless you add shims or drill out the strut tower braces, does this sound right? Can you only adjust the toe on all four tires and if a caster adjustment is needed you have to go back to GM?

The front castor is adjustable with shims. DO NOT DRILL ANYTHING! In an aftermarket Radius Rod bush kit (Pedders PN EP9166) there are shims that are stacked on the radius rod arm before the the bush is installed. The size of the shims on the rod before the bush is installed set the castor. If you want to change the castor, the bush needs to be disassembled and the shim stack adjusted.
Toe and camber is adjustable in the front and toe only in the rear. Rear camber is affected by ride height. There is an aftermarket kit that is installed in the outer control arm position that adjusts rear camber. The eccentric ferrulle moves the control arm to change the rear camber.Dan Morris
