New GTO parts

I just got finished installing Eibach 1.2" drop springs all around the car, new poly end links and swaybar bushings, new poly pedders adjustable radius rod bushing, and pedders tierod ends.

now the handles EXCELLENT!!!!! I can't wait to get the rest of the poly bushings in ans under the car!

I wanted to take a minute to thank Sarge for the great install documents and MyfirstGTO for all the great advice, parts and quick shipping! I really don't know what I would do without this site and help from all the great people on here!

If I would have known it (suspension Pedders) would have been my first mod.

the difference is almost undiscribeable. the only thing I did different than your install was put the 8mm and the 4mm behind the bushing instead of the 8mm and 2mm. mine didn't have a washer back there to begin with so that should equal out to about the same caster setting

hey Frank, if I pushed the wheel back a few more mm's with an extra shim or two behind the radius rod bushing would it improve the handling even more? like I said before in other posts, I don't care about feeling a stiff harsh ride, I want the best handling I can get

I put solid motor mounts in last week and love them...with the stock mounts the engine would flex eneough to get the header to hit and lock the steering shaft.
I just have a VERY small vibration through the car at and just off idle

I love my stiffy. No vibration/instant torque/no drive train "shock" cheap and easy install.

the vibration isn't bad at all with the solid motor mounts, I actually thought it would be a lot worse......plus my solid mounts only cost me about $5 for the pair.

1) get Nissan on the road
2) finsh my mother's 66 mustang
3) rwd my 70 Saab Sonnet (look them up they are cool) using the factory 289 and drivetrain out of my mom's mustang
4) bigger cam, bigger stall, gut and cage the GTO to make it wicked as hell......i want it to beable to hit the 9's....... I'll prep and do the whole car, by then I'll hopefully decide what I want for a motor....stroker? turbo? maybe both

I figure I have a year or two to saveup and decide

I agree Sarge,I would not want solid mounts on a car I drive alot,race car ok,but the goat has a great suspension setup, rides and handles very well in stock forum,to each his or her own.stiffy for the ride..lol

I like the stiffy and no vibrations, the car is very smooth and guiet, very nice for long trips, sort of like a big expensive car on steroids but at 1/3 the cost!

How easy is it to swap out the mounts? I havent checked on that and will be going with polys.

it took me about an hour to swap them out.
1)put the car up on jack stands
2)removed the upper and lower nuts
3) jacked the motor up about an inch with a board under the oil pan
4) removed the three bolts that hold the aluminum brackets to the block on each side
5) slip the brackets off of the mounts and slide the mounts out from the top(this took awhile to figureout just how to squeeze them up past the headers, but it can be done)
6)drop new mounts in
7)bolt brackets to block
8)lower motor back down on new mounts and bolt in place with the two nuts

lol there again I'll be more than willing to give you a hand.....or bring the car up to my place and I'll charge you a 12 pack of amberbock then share it with you

Nice and easy. I like!

I had ES motor/trans mount for my old tC and that was a pain to swap out. Never got to it since it is definately an all day task for two people in a driveway. Air tools and a lift was almost required for it.
