Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
I have heard of folks putting 265/275 40ZR17's on the rear without rubbing the rear quarters.

I believe they were. Without being widened either.

275s on a OEM wheel that's been widened to 9 inches.

He is a member of LS1GTO. He made is own over the radiator cold air intake for his GTO and he has done other mods to it as well.

OK. He did widen them. Whoops on my part. But I coulda sworn he was running stock wheels that weren't widened. I'm getting old.

I think people have made claims... just haven't backed them up. I don't think you can fit these tires with out having the proper rim size. I want 315's on the back of my T/A and some guy told me I could fit them on the stock 9" rims. It ain't happening, so Now I'm looking at getting a set widened

how long has his rims been widened? Are they holding up well and where did he get it done? I may get my T/A rims widened to 11", so my dad doesn't feel iffy on getting his Goats rims widened.
I've been skeptical and so has he, but I've been told if done right its just as strong as anything.
