MAfLess
Anybody running a SD tune here? HP Tuners finally came out with the newest version and we are gonna yank the MAF tomorrow...

I've been toying with the idea of getting rid of my MAF. Having a Procharger my idle will dip on occasion. I hear this alot "that car sounds good, but it idles funny" This isn't a big deal but, trying to explain to people that my car dosen't need a tune up is a pain in the ass. It's kind of funny watching the confused look on their face when I explain about air surging thru MAF from my supercharger and they have no idea what I'm talking about.

Hey man! Yup Allen is in his new shop now....and yes..can SD tune with the best of 'em....had to get a patch from HP to kill the SES light but it is all good...I kid you not...a MAfLess tune is the balls....hows the Patriot heads? you get em on yet? And for the IAT sensor....put it in the air cleaner or get one of those little KN looking filters at Auto Zone for like $5 bucks and stick it in there...

I'm gonna try it when I get up there to Allens.
I need to see if he can swap pulley's too. Do you still have your stocker? I am going to go back to the stock pulley. I can't take driving the car with piss poor a/c...

No...lots of LSX folks run mafless. Lot of debate on SD vs. MAF tunes and the benefits vs. the liabilities of both.

I'm an auto. I have an ASP pulley, don't know the size, just had them throw it on when they did the cam swap. It might not be the pulley, it just seems that since it when on, the quality and production of the a/c has been reduced.
cruising on the hwy, the a/c works good, traveling around town, it just doesn't blow very cold. That's why I blame the pulley, at idle and town speeds, the compressor might not be spinning fast enough?

MIght eed to get some freon. Where can I go to get it? I don't think I've owned a car long enough to get the a/c worked on..hehe

Why would you want to get rid of the MAF?? It lets the computer know how much air is entering the engine so that it can provide the correct A/F ratio - I can't see how that isn't beneficial.
With the proper tune, I can't see how having it hooked up is disadvantage.

yeah Sarge, just HOW modified does it have to be for the Mafless tune to be beneficial?
