    Light throttle hesitation

The Goat is hesitating when going from a stop under light throttle. I give it some gas and it seems like 1/2 a second before the engine responds. It has done this since I got the car with about 47k miles, now at about 60k it seems like it has gotten a little worse. This kind of sucks because I find myself having to time the hesitation with the clutch to pull away smoothly under light acceleration.

I assume it could use new plugs and the throttle body cleaned out, but what would be the most likely cause of hesitation under low throttle? The car is about stock and I have pretty much only done oil changes, cleaned the K&N & MAF. Otherwise I never seem to have time to do other things.

Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

I'd throw some new plugs and wires on it and also reclean the MAF......lots of people put too much oil on the K&N filters, then it gets sucked into the MAF and throws its readings off

I'll do that I actually have the plugs, I just never put them on. I doubt the MAF has any oil on it, I cleaned it 2 weeks after re-oiling just to get any residual oil off. But it's easy enough to clean it again.

Mine did the same thing after my radiator was installed. Turned out to be a dirty MAF. Tech cleaned it and all is good.

I don't think it is the MAF, the car has done this for a while, including right after the last time I cleaned the MAF. I am planning to change the plugs and clean the TB next week so since the MAF will be off I am going to clean it anyway.
