LS1? Assuming you have a LS1....I'd say somewhere around 390'ish.....to the wheels...

Not to step on this thread, but I'm about to get a check from uncle sam and a bonus from work.

Sarge - Of the GM performance cams availabe do you have a preference if
I'm more of a stick it in the corner hitting the apex of a corner driver than a quarter miler?

I considering a cam and an APS underdrive pulley (10%)

Make sure you have the tuner re-do the MAF tables since you removed that screen. I would say around 375'sh.
What mufflers are running behind the cutout's?
Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

In my opinion if your looking for the best bang for the buck then DON'T BUY ANY OFF SHELF GRIND. For the same price you can call up CamMotion and have a custom ground cam specifically for your car and your desires on power band. Just be very honest with all there ?'s that is the only mistake I have seen many make when ordering their own cams. Go to a truck stop and get a real exact weight of your car that is one of the many things they will want and need.

Your much better off that way in my opinion.

This car has a custom ground CamMotion stick in it.

    Thank you for that

I am new to the game. So i considered doing my research . And thought that I would go with something that was already tested. The parts that i have gotten were indeed on someone else LS1 . I am know finding out that i have to do a lot to get my car fast . This is becoming more than rocket science to get my car to 500hp at the crank. Damn I should stick to just buying showing room fast an leaving it at that

we have big fast and also HEAVY cars so you mine want to look into freeing up power by reducing your excess weight. Its easy to drop a good bit of weight with a few bolts

Hope you get a tune. deletion of the screen sounds good but your maf is calibrated to use it. Not a good ideal.

On the GTO's you can go under the car and lose the skid plate, and tow hitch bracet. In the trunk you can takeout the spare tire and jack parts, and the big heavy gas tank cage... you can find alot more to take off if you want to go farther

are there any advantages or disadvantages to running a mafless tune? what is the difference? I'm not being smart, just curious and trying to learn more

no worries, from what i understand the benefit is the removal of the maf which poses a restriction in the intake duct, differences of around 15rwkw have been found and even more once a cam comes into the equation. Gains will be dependant on the size and type of maf in place. Agood tuner will be able to make the car run with no disavantages over a maf tune. There are alot of tuners in australia who are sub par and therfore dont know how to tune the car properly. On our new VE commodore (pontiac G8 to you) which comes with the 6.0 litre L98, my tuner has found more power with the maf inplace on a stock cam setup, with a cam however, the mafless setup produced more gains.
