hot cam kit from gm high performance

Has anyone tried this kit, i want a cam that is not going to be too much for stock configuration, but still have a nasty sound and give some good power/ torque gains, Im also considering the LS6 cam. I looked at a trick flow head an cam kit from summit, dam 3200 clams. Better give me whiplash for that kind of money. In case ur wondering its for a 04 gto auto LS1

    2004 GTO M6

(Wow things have changed here a bit. I've been away for quite awhile.)

    Anywho...

I have put TrickFlow cams in 3 different GTO's over the past year or so with good results. 2 of them were '06's.

One '06 I put the TFS-30602004 cam in w/stock heads. Upgraded the valve springs and used Harlan Sharp roller rockers. New Era tuned that car. It produced about 412 hp @ the wheels.

The other '06 I used the TFS-30602003 cam w/stock heads. Upgraded the valve springs and also used Harlan Sharp RR's. J&J Speed tuned this car. It produced around 409 hp @ the wheels.

My '04, I used the TFS-K306-515-460 Head and Cam kit. This kit uses the TFS-30602003 cam. This kit produced 402 hp /377 ft.lbs @ the wheels. Then I added a Procharger. It then put out 515 hp/477 ft.lbs. @ the wheels. New Era tuned it. I had J&J Speed re-tune the car yesterday with a proper Speed Density tune. The final out come was a surprising 586 hp/492 ft.lbs. @ wheels.

So if cash is an issue. You can just get the cam, upgrade the valve spring and a set of good roller rockers for less than a H/C kit and still make some decent power. These cars all have a nice muscle car idle and run with decent mid range and strong upper range power.
04 Cosmos Purple M6, SAP Grills & Spoiler, '05 Hood, Procharger, TrickFlow 515 HP H/C Kit, SLP LT Headers/LM II, '05 Big Red Brake upgrade, Drag bags, Holden CV8R wheels, GMM Ripshifter. Tuned by New Era: 515 rwhp/471 ft.lbs. Retuned by J&J Speed: Speed Density tuned 586rwhp/ 492 ft.lbs.
