headers again....
have already been swayed away from the slp headers for various reasons, and this brings me to another impass. ive been favoring the kooks recently but stumbled across the pacesetters. thier cheap price leads me to believe that they are in the lesser quality category, but then again i dont know. i think i might just bite the bullet and get the kooks..

I have the Kooks 1-78" LT's on our car and there is no question that they are a quality set of stainless headers. Lots of members run the Pacesetters and I have never heard anyone complain about quality or fitment. I do not believe they are made of stainless and that is probably the primary reason for the pricing difference.

ok roger, thank you for the clarification. it sounds like the pacesetters would be fine as long as they were coated

Coated headers work great. I have a set on our C3 that were installed years ago and still look great. Just be careful not to scratch or chip the coating during installation. Also, you can't beat the stock GM exhaust steel shim gaskets -- I tossed the gaskets that came with the Kooks and went to the local dealership for a set.

Haven't put headers on the GTO yet but I did on my Z28 and I went with coated pacesetters. They held up quite well with no fitment issues at all.

I don't think you'll be disappointed in the Pacesetters.

They fit like a glove! Only thing is make sure you spend the extra cash and buy the hot jet coated ones my ceramic coated headers started rusting after a couple thousand miles but nothing too major.
