headers
got my long tubes on and it went ok, well except every thing i ever do something always goes wrong lol, took longer to get the rack n pinion back in and hooked up than it did to remove the manifolds and get the headers in. lost a lil low end torque but found it above 3k runs much stronger, now im thinking whats next?????????

Get a tune and you should see more torque down low and more HP up top.

mod
ive been thinking cam , and i would like a tune also, right now im haveing a clearence issue, when turning sharp and really gettin on the motor. when the engines moves the header is hitting the steering shaft, any one know of any better motor mounts which limit the motors movement, or do i need to bend on the headers a little to get better cleareence

Noltec makes motor mounts. I have them but have not installed them yet. Supposedly they take all the movement out from the stock mounts. Do a search on LS1GTO.com and you'll pick up a lot of info on them.

mounts
yea i was thinking mounts, if your put your hand on the shifter, when u rev u can really see how much the stock motor mounts move. ill have to do the mount swap soon, also i was just thinking about clearenceing the headers some. But ill try mounts first and see how that goes

Get a good tune before you throw away anymore money. Also invest in some ggod tires such as a pair of drag radials so you can hook ther power you already have.
If you can't dead hook at the track now don't add more power until you are there. If you do all your doing is adding tire smoke which was cool when I was 15........
Also if you can weld or one of your friends can you can easily make yourself a torque strap to hold the drivers side of the motor from twisting.Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

We try not to give away secrets like that but it is VERY easy.
All you need to do is bolt to the head or block and mount to the strut tower or lower frame rail.

strap
i have decent fabrication skills ill look into making one this week on my off days, that will be alot cheaper and easier than $236 for noltec motor mounts how much movement should i allow for the motor any at all? a 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch? im guessing a chain and 2 bolts would prolly do the trick rite?

Yeah it would I would not allow anymore than you had to. We some times preload it the other way so it is tight......

No other than a stink ass weak stock clutch!!
Until you hook completely your not going to break anything.

breakage
i meant where u bolt it to, i dont want to strip any bolt holes in the heads or block out from the motor twisting or does it twist with that much power?

thanks
talked to one of my friends he suggested tail gate cables, said thats what everone used on mustangs, to preload do i just unbolt the motor mounts and and jack up the passenger side some?
-

Yeah that will work.
You can also just take a piece of 2x4 and place on the oilpan pail and jack up with the mtr mount still bolted. Your not trying to preload a bunch just enough to take the slack out.
