Gto Mpg
just sold my Z28 yesterday and when (if) i get a job this summer I'll be looking to trade in my truck on a new to me car, it will be between a gto T/A or another camaro. so my question is what can i expect to get for mpg in an LS1 m6 and a LS2 m6?

My car is slightly modded and I get 17 in down and 24 hwy. It will all depend on how you drive it.

GAS MILEAGE - GTO does very good...
I have an 05 M6 LS2 GTO, I mainly drive hwy miles to work, about 80% hwy. The motor is stock except for an aftermarket air filter. When driving conservatively (I wanted to see how well I could do with gas consumption), I was able to achieve 28 mpg... If I drive aggressively I still get around 23 mpg, not bad for a 400 hp engine.

thanks guys, does anyone know how the 5.7s do? I would think about the same but sometimes more power does help out with milage

LS2 would probably get better mileage, since its a larger engine with more power pushing the same sized/weighing car. My 06 M6 can reach low 30's on the highway if CC is on. Even if i stomp the pedal to the floor in 5th at 70mph, the lowest it goes is 7.4mpg. It all depends on how you drive. Mines all stock btw

It also depends on location. Hills will kill gas mileage

Black- 2004 GTO
I get 20 in town and 24-25 HWY in my 04 M6. Power doesn't have as much to do with it as driving style. I'm at 7000' ASL so I'm not putting down near the power.

Now is this what your trip computer says, or what you have actually calculated by filling the tank a few times and dividing the gallons into the (correct) miles driven. Those trip computers are nice for instant readouts, but I always trust the time proven method. I am so anal I check my odometer against my GPS and the mile markers on the highway. I have found that most cars are off in the actual miles driven. My TA will show 100 miles driven and it is actuall 102.4. Our Jeep shows 100 miles driven and it is actually 107.5
I thought AT GTOs were rated 21 MPG highway, MT were 24, so mid 20s higway is possible with 16 about normal for city. Weight kills city MPG.
