can you bolt the ls2 out of a gto directly to a 2000 camaro ... and how much trouble would it be .......

Should bolt right in. You will have to reuse the throttle body from the Camaro. And you will need the wiring and BCM from the GTO to transfer into the Camaro. I think you will need a scanner or tuning software to allow the key from the Camaro to run the GTO engine after the swap as the keys between the GTO and Camaro are different. I could be missing something...but someone else will step in and let you know of any other things you will need.

You can and should use the stock 2000 computer, but will need a converter box to read the 58x tooth crank trigger and extend the cam sensor wires to reach the front timing cover.
I'd also look for an ls6 intake and you wiil need to reuse your 2000 throttle body.
