Getting a new key/remote?!
I got a quote from a local GM dealer for a new keyfob since mine only came with one-figured it'd be expensive since its the key and remote in one unit but they said it'd end up being around $250! I mean dealers are expensive but sh!t for a key? The service advisor told me its $68 for the key itself, almost $200 for the remote fob then it has to be laser-cut by GM and assembled, then programmed by the Tech-II @ the dealer. Anything I can do, or just bite the bullet on this one?

if you bought it new or used from a dealer they owe you two keys on delivery of the car.
when I bought my car it was used and they only had one key so they ordered a second and when it came in.....your right, dealer had to reprogram the 2 keys and car.....i hope you got the car at a dealer so you don't have to pay for it

The keys need to be cut at the factory in Australia. The dealer told me they could not cut one in house. I recently had to replace mine.

Why would you need a key recut though? If you have one that needs a new fob, the key goes into the new fob...
