dissapointed!!
i went to the drag strip my first time and ran a 14.215 1/4 mile and i thought i could do alot better then that but i have to get use to the starting tree and everything. and i have a full exhaust. pacesetter headers and mid pipes no cats and slp loudmouth i thought i would do more like 13.5 or better but i guess and i am sure i can do better because i kept on spinning 1st and 2nd can ne one give me tips about how to launch whats good and whats not?

your just like me got a 12 second or less car, and im a 14 second driver lol

So its just me right? haha i just wanna make sure becuz i no the car can do more i need a little work on the suspension for the wheel hop and the spinning. maybe drag bags, bushings and a sway bar im thingking

Ummmm 13.5 ls1 GTO?...I thought that was decent times for the ls2. From what I've heard around, your not doing what the car is capable of most likey due to launch issues but I really dont think the ls1 is going to do 13.5 or better, I dont think your that bad of a driver. But yeah, I've heard drag bags make a WORLD of difference. Whats you 60ft and trap speeds?

i also have a full exhaust though so thats a difference of power but yeah i no for sure its me theres no doubt about it that im just not the best driver but i no for sure that it will do 13s and plus it was my very first time at a track

I am running a very near stock 04 gto with 555 DRs and i am pulling a 1.97 to a low twoish when i am doing good and I am not that good.
1. get some DRs
2. Practice your launch, you can throw all that stuff on your car but at the end of the day your still driving the car so practice the launch.
3. I have a one piece drive shaft, it has helped a bit on the lauch times and lessens wheel hop a little.
4. practice your launch that car bone stock should hit around a 2 flat 60 ft IMO.
your 1/8 mile should be a little faster to hit the eta your looking for, shoot for 84 ish mph

Im doin 2.0 flat with a street tire in my ls1, good old live axle. Also running a 12.87 with exhaust, headers, a lid and no tune.

i no its me that has to do better i no that for a fact becuz it was my first time there it was even my first time ever doing legal drag race.

With those mods id say you have a car that can run low to mid 13s with a good driver, just keep practicing, i could try and tell you how to launch but our cars have completely different rear end setups.

You need tires and a spring tuning kit for the rear axle. It should stop the squirreliness when you launch

I WAS RUNNING 14.1 ALL STOCK WITH 2.03 60 ft. NOW I HAVE A FUDDLE 3600 STALL AND I AM GETTING 1.60 60ft AND RUNNING 12.0s BUT I AM TURBO'D. IM RUNNING ONLY 5 LBS OF BOOST AND ALL STOCK AS OF RIGHT NOW. IM UPING BOOST THIS WEEK TO 8LBS WITH METH INJ. AND I STILL HAVE TO PUT MY HEADS, CAM, INTAKE, TB, MAF ON. JUST KEEP PRACTICING AND YOU'LL GET IT. SO JUST HANG IN THERE

you need to just save up so you can get forged itnernals and up the boost to 15psi and 20psi with meth, combine that with heads and a cam and you will be a 10 second car that still has drivability.
