    diablo tuner not reading

I was running live data to check some readings when I turned on my air conditioning. The diablo tuner went blank, looked like it lost power and my dash beeped and said service needed and fuel guage malfunction, like it does when rewriting a tune. I turned the car off and unplugged the tuner. Now when the tuner prompts me to turn ingnition key it doesn't read or see that the key is in the on position. I can't check trouble codes, read live data or change my tune. Can any one help?. Is there a way to reset the tuner or did I mess up my tuner?

When were the batteries last replaced in the tuner?

Well...if the tuner runs off the car's battery, possible weak battery. Hopefully you didn't fry the PCM.

I have to take a look at some fuses. Everything on the car seems to work properly. The tuner just doesn't recognize that the key is on.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here. Do you have another tune in that car with different software? I just looked online and if you are running another tune, your tuner won't read it, if you have a weak battery in the car, the tuner won't scan. Tuners can lock a tune in a car and you won't be able to overwrite the existing tune. Also, do you have anything else in the car, like a skip-shift eliminator? If you have any outside aftermarket stuff done to the car, the diablo won't do anything.

If your tuner turns on when you plug it in this should be ok, but I would check anyway. On the DLC check to see if you have power to pin 16. It should be on the botom row all the way to the right. You should see battery voltage.

I do have a skip shift eliminator on it but it was working fine. It's been on for months. I have the diablo tune on it slightly moded. No other tune. Stock tune before that. I'll have to check the voltage on that pin. Everything seems fine with the tuner except it's not reading my computer. Thanks for the input guys.

no luck so far. checked the fuses under the steering wheel and under the hood on passenger side and no blown fuses. someone told me to check the ecm fuse but i don't know where that is located. it''s not in the owners manual. the predator says it doesn't read the vehicle type (1).

If you had a blown ECM fuse you would have a lot more issues than your predator not working so I dont think you should worry about that. If you know some one with a code reader or Scanner, you should see if that will communicate with your ECM. If you dont maybe try an auto parts store that does free scans. Obviously if it does read the issue is your tuner.

I agree with MNGTO. I am wondering if you might have spiked the tuner when you turned on your A/C. Did the tuner prompt you to turn on your A/C?

no the windows were up and it was hot as hell. i figured that when the car is running alot of other electrical stuff is on and wouldn't hurt it.

I am trying to remember. I think it is under the steering wheel.

Nevermind. I just looked under mine. Check under the hood instead.

I used to remember what the fuse was called. I can't remember if it is "ECM", "PCM", or "ENG".
