    Cat question

Has anyone heard anything about pypes brand high flow catalytic converters? I am stuck between spending around $200 for those or $350 for slp brand. I went onto summit racing and did not find the cats that someone said were going for $65.

Just throwing this out, but if i were you I would not spend a penny on High Flow cats!! They are to DAMN expensive..either delete the cats, or stick with the stock!! just my thoughts

Either gut the ones you have and delete the rear sensors or keep what you have. I have seen no gains/benefits from "high flow" catalytic converters.

Thanks for the input guys but i have to have the cats due to strick emissions checks in georgia. My vehicle will not pass if my o2 sensors are turned off. I have already talked with the performance shop that is doing the work and they agreed, that the cats are a must in the county that i live in.

I live in PA, the shipping shouldn't be that much. I have a set of cat shells already gutted that I will give you if you want them, then sell yours for scrap. you can get a good bit of money for used cats. get your rear o2s turned off with the empty shells and the emissions station will never know.

the high flow cats you are talkig about for $65 are magnaflow universal highflow cats

Thanks for the offer mark, but i believe the emissions test will shop an error if you have the o2 sensors cut off. If that is not true let me know.

    Destroying Mustang-

i don't think they will catch it if you cancel it on the tune...just makes the comp stop receiving info from the sensors...wires are still attached, so if the greasemonkey checking for cats on your car looks at it, all appears well...do they put a "sniffer" on your exhaust when you get an inspection???

exactly, it doesn't actually kill the sensor, just makes anything hooked to the diagnostic port (emissions test) think its doing its job just the way its suppossed to, then they look underneath and see all the parts that are suppossed to be there and pass you

plus alot of time when people get hiflow cats they have to have the rear sensors turned off anyway because the computer sees low catylist change and throws the ses light
