Auto Trans Question, '04 GTO

Hey guys,

My brother just purchased a '04 GTO. I've noticed when it's put into gear, especially noticable from reverse to drive, that the whole car kinda jumps or lurches quite a bit. Almost like the ass end is raising or lowering.

Is this a product of the 2 piece driveshaft or is something else wrong? It only has 6700 miles and is under a GM certified ext. warranty. To clarify the problem - it's really just felt, you don't really hear any popping or anything, that's just how it feels, if that makes sense.

mine does the same thing, I just think it's the rear-end loading

Ahh yes, the IRS differential hunker down squat. Gotta love the look on the faces behind you when you do it at a light.
And yes- this is completely normal and if you get under the back end you will see the slot that it travels up and down in.
