Anybody wrap their headers?
I've been doing it for years....kills the underhood heat for sure....never had any rust....just curious....simple project really...
Helluva lot cheaper than ceramic coating

I've always heard it will speed up the rusting process but have no first hand experience. Definitely cheaper than coating them for sure. I wonder about taping up coated headers? Wonder if that would decrease temps even further?

In the olden days...when we had headers on our horses Headers were made out of cheaper thinner steel....and yes....the wrap would just speed up the rusting problems.....but today we have stainless steel headers...I've never had any rusting issues with the newer headers....and yes...the wrap drops underhood temps significantly....a shitload......and scavenges the exhaust gasses due the superheating internally thus giving you better flow thus giving you a couple of extra RWHP I was just curious if you young guys was wrapping headers these days....great mod for your car for sure...and cheap.

that's cool, where can i find some manifold heat? Does autozone carry that? B/c zbizkit and zboner were saying that I need to add some of that to make my car run smoother.

Do you think wrapping further down your exhaust could cut down on rasp on some set ups? Maybe give a lil more "density", the word I think im looking for, to the pipes?

Impulse Blue- 2004 GTO
Just be careful with that stuff. Ask Tom Byrne(TByrne Motorsports) what happened to his 93 Z28, not a pretty picture. Burned to the ground as oil got on the wrap and caught fire.
