Air intake
What is the absolute best air intake for a 05 m6 gto?? Volant? Is there ram air for these cars? Is that better then a cold air intake??

Vararam seems to be the top choice from what I've seen. It does not use the factory location like most others. Personally I the the cold air inductions CAI. It uses the factory location. IMO is leaps and bounds better than your k&n, volant, lingenfelter, ect and not much more for a way better quality intake.

Air intake
They all talk about cool air intakes. But I put a K&N "fuel injection performance" kit on my 02 Z-28. It has nothing to do with fuel injection. Just a air filter and a straight shot to the mass air flow sensor. Cost 300 bucks and they say 13.2 horse. My computer on car had to accept it. 10 minutes. When they make camaro, they want intake quiet. I guarantee you will feel the difference. Throttle response big time. Like my old tri-z 3 wheeler and take the airbox cover off. Go for SLP with cold air or open K&N straight shot. In my opinion, this will do more than cat-back exhaust.

The best one is made by Svede, Its an OTRCAI and has the most proven track results. Its a sealed unit, unlike the open tray that the Vararam uses. ...and its the one I use. see the sticky in this section

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
Yup. I have heard many good things about the Svede unit. Our cars in Australia use an OTRCAI factory. I will never understand why we never had that option with our US-spec GTOs.

I like the vararam myself. Takes advantage of the cooler air in front of the radiator and provides a heat shield for the maf. Very pleased with mine.

Thats why I went with the Cold Air inductions CAI(google it) no sponsors here sell it so I won't post a link. Its the next best thing if you don't want to cut things, goes right into the stock location. I did not want to cut anything and also did not want to worry about rain with OTRCAI. Here in fl we get nasty nasty storms pretty much every afternoon in the summer filter right at the nostrils+monsoon rains= not good.
