Oh yeah
I agree with the previous post. This www.otrcai.com/ is a very substantial unit. I have seen similar but this should definitely GITTER DUNN! as they say. Unless you retain the skills to fabricate your own by hand as others have done.

I've never been under the hood of an 05-6'. I have an 04'. I think they are pretty much the same in that department or at least very close. You have the link why don't you call & ask them? I modified the stock intake because I'm trying to stay as close to OEM and stealth as possible. The OTRCAI is the real deal as far as true cold air goes. All those other intakes that remain in the engine compartment are BS IMO. Possibly some increase to CFM's but the air is still hot. I insulated my entire intake. Dense air trumps volume. All the volume in the world doesn't mean shit if the molecules are hot and loose. An analogy would be like having a tube filled with shredded paper that is packed loosely. You are going to only be able to draw so much volume down that tube. Now pack the paper more tightly at the same flow rate and the volume/energy potential increases greatly. The tight packing is the cold effect. That is what forced induction (turbo/supercharger) does, it packs the molecules even tighter whereby forcing more energy potential into the combustion chamber.

You da man
My neighbor is an unemployed General Motors prototype engineer. He's constantly looking over my shoulder but hasn't had anything to say but positive things so far. I gave a dissertation on another thread earlier about how I hate dial gappers for spark plugs because the miss-align the contact points and cause a bias in the spark's travel. This due to the fact that electricity much like water follows the path of least resistance. I am a highschool dropout but have since atoned for my sins. The nitty gritty of science is where it's at. Faith does not culminate horsepower!

i got an e-mail back from them said they have a MAFless version for the '06 but they said it would take 3 week before they are ready because they are creating the molds.

If you choose to go MAFless I believe you are going to have to get your computer tuned to compensate for it's absence. You may also want to refer to this http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98291
and this, although it's for an 04' http://www.granatellimotorsports.com...ay.php?gid=182Last edited by Goat-E; 07-01-2009 at 02:26 AM.
