Advice on changing oil in m6?

Has anyone changed out their stock oil in the M6? What upgraded oil do you recommend, and what improvements did you see?

I switched mine to Mobil 1 Synthetic Dex/Mercon IV due to being a good price and available. I'm leaking a bit at the main seal so wasn't too worried. I plan on rebuilding it stronger in the next year but I can smell fluid burning on the exhaust under hard accelerations.

It helped out a bit compared to stock. The shifting is smoother. But your not really going to get a drastic improvement from fluid changes. Protection is the biggest key to what fluid you chose.

The best stuff to use is Amsoil....plain and simple. Stuff is great!

I heard PP is one of the best oils for LS1's; but pretty sure he means trans fluid I used PP for a while (in the engine) then M1 then German Castrol 0W-30. Trans (M6) is regular dex III
