Vette Vs SS
I ran across what i thought to be a stock vette 92-96 well it turned out to be a beast in sheeps clothing thats right a ZR-1!!! I found out as soon as we jumped on the gas from about 65 he leaped out in front and i saw my self slowly dropping back and finally gave up!!! As i caught up and pulled behind him i saw the little decal that said ZR-1!! I love that car its been one of my dream cars since it came out and here in houston u see mainly the Z06's and very rarely have i seen the massive ZR-1 who may be slower then its new Z06 but it still is a force to be dealt with on the road!!!! I guess there something about a 4 cam 32 valve 405 hp beast of vette that gets me all emotional. LOL

Blue- 2000 Camaro SS Convertibl
Yeah, the original ZR-1 is pretty bad ass. Too bad the styling was almost identical to the run of the mill base model Corvette. The engine was definately unique in the fact it was produced by a boat company (mercury marine I believe). 400 hp is alot of power for a stock engine even by today's standards, not to mention back in the early 90's when the stock vette had a measly 240 hp! Although I'm not a huge fan of multi-valve V-8's I do kind of wished they would have put a similar engine on the new ZR-1s instead oif the blown V-8. Oh well, not like most of us (including myself) probably will never own one anyways!

I've still only saw two ZR-1's and two Grand sports in my life. They are two of my favorite Vette's made.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Mercury Marine is a division of the General. The heads were designed by Lotus. There is a butterfly valve that shuts off the fuel/air flow to 1 set of intake valves below 3500 rpm. This is why he walked you in the upper rpm band. Those heads are good til ~7500 rpm stock.
I forgot to mention: The ZR-1 engine designation was LT-5.

Black on Black on Black- 2002 Camaro SS Vert
A quick look on Ebay shows a few low mileage cars for sale. There's a black/black one with 15K and this link to a red one with 162 miles.

The book the heart of the best really goes into detail what the ZR1 is all about, crazy! So much development went into that engine, they ran em for weeks on end at redline without a problem in the shops. Don't forget about the famous nickel test, a nickel will sit up on end while the engine is reving and will not fall off. Just an amazing car done by the general.

I had a friend that owned one, a red '95. He ran high 12's in the quarter, but you would swear it was faster if you saw it from a roll.

Monterey Maroon Metalic- 2000 Z28
Awesome! I saw one about a year ago near my old apartment. It was all beat up though, exhaust falling off the car... what a shame. He was trying to mess with me but I saw that high brake light on the back and knew what was up. He probably goes around terrorizing F-bodies and C5's all day.

Yeah both ZR-1 and the Grand Sport are amazing i agree totally and i personally like the older vettes 2007 and back and really love the ones made from 92-96 those are my favorite other than the classics. Eventually i will buy a vette but i dont know when or what kind ive been shopping them for a while but havent decided to go with a vette or a new camaro i guess it depends on what GM actually releases.

Well, I was the original owner of a Callaway SuperNatural Grand Sport Corvette that I sold back in Feb. '07. I bought my SS in April '07 and have nevers looked back. I love the SS and the way it is setup, it outperforms the GS. Just my two cents.................
And yes, it was a Bloomington Gold Corvette2002 SLP Camaro SS
Onyx Black
