V6 Camaro: Kill or be killed!
On my cruise to Destin, FL this weekend I had a run in with a fellow Camaro driver. It was a white V6 convertible and I could see he was weaving in and out of traffic behind me. I’m cruising in the SS with the windows up, girlfriend sleeping in the front seat and the dog is sleeping in the back seat and this guy comes up beside me and starts pacing me. He pulled up beside me several times and floored it…..then he’d hit his brakes to slow down and get beside me again. For a while, I stood strong and resisted the temptation to bite! Finally, as we’re coming up to a stop light the guy puts his flashers on and starts swerving halfway in my lane. The convertible top is down and I can see the driver and his buddy laughing it up. We got caught at the next light and I rolled down the window and told him that there’s “no need to bother” and to try to stay out of my lane! Well, apparently that wasn’t good enough!! We take off and once we get up to speed again (45ish), he throws on the flashers and starts swerving into my lane. That was enough for me, so I slammed it into second (tires spinning) and ran it up to the end of third and he was now just headlights in the distance. Further up the road we got caught at another light and he and his buddy had a much nicer tone. They had no idea what type of Camaro it was, and I simply replied that it’s an “SS”. I told them that the swerving into other people’s lane thing isn’t very cool and wished them a good night. They were very complimentary about the car and the exhaust note and went on their way without swerving at me again! I still can’t figure out for the life of me what they were trying to accomplish by swerving into my lane. Not really a kill, but I thought I would share!

Its the envy, they wish they had the LS1. A kid I used to go to school with had a V6, got dual exhaust, racing stripes, tried telling everyone it was a LS1...with a 5-speed. Needless to say, one day after school I caught him at a light in my GT, I reved, he refused to play because he knew I was going to embarass him. And all his fooseball buddys were in the truck behind him >

The guy who was driving that car probably just thought all Camaros are fast and that he could mess around with anybody and win, not knowing there are multiple trim levels of the F-body. I hope that they both went home and did some F-body homework and realize what they don't have.
A V6 F-body is good at what it was built for: sporty and slow.
What burns me up is that I've seen 2 Camaros in my area that were V6's but had Z28 badges. There is a white one that is always parked at my job with black Z28 badges and a V6 muffler. But yesterday I was riding shotgun with my girlfriend in her Alero and we came to a red light. As we sat I noticed a red camaro (pre '98) sitting in the turning lane that had Z28 badges on the front quarters. I enjoy the sound of a V8 and I was hoping to hear the burble of a mighty LT1 so I cracked my window and listened for the exhaust note and I heard nothing.
I was amazed that I saw an unmodded LT1 and thought to myself, what a shame, get a cat-back at least! So as I'm sitting at this light and he's turning left, I see that he's got an SS badge on the back? Still not hearing an exhaust note I was very confused and I saw the stock single outlet muffler under the left hand side.
I wanted so bad to pull this guy over and rip off those badges. I know it's not my car but what he's doing is blasphamy!
Not very relevant to your post Midnight02, but I had to share. By the way, you forgot to mention the reaction to the rude awakening of your better half!

I know the feeling and can sympathize with you on this one!
And yes, for the record, my girlfriend LOVES to wake up to tires squealing and an LS1 screaming at 5,500 RPM! HAHA! The initial swerve to miss getting hit woke her up from her sleep, however after I kicked it down into 2nd, she was awake for the remaining 30 minutes of the drive! HAHA!

That's awesome. there is this pretty little brunette chick that works at a sports shop i go to for embroidery and the like that drives a full body kit V6. You know how to piss people off in V6 cars that were built for a V8..... a 1995 grand marquis with a 4.6 V8..... it's a slow car.. but not as slow as those!

Enough is Enough
Yeah, as if those fake badges weren't enough, Ford built, sold, and people actually bought Escort GTs (oxymoron if I've ever seen one). You can walk into Autozone and buy this "Type R" badge and put it on anything. I think I've seen "Type R" seat covers too. Not to mention that F-bodies are the shiznit but the amount of money spent on B.S. like that makes me sick.
You know, I'd love to see a thread started on here where people take pictures of cars with this B.S. like that on them. In fact, I am wanting to take a picture of this white V6 Camaro with the Z28 badges on it at work along with a shot of the obviously factory V6 exhaust setup.
You know, there have been many times I've been to Autozone, Advance, or O'Riley's and seen some stupid $hit out in the parking lot. It might be the bourbon talking, but I think I need to start that thread and post some pics of some dumb asses' cars. If nothing else it would be entertaining for us. Kind of like an "ugly.com" of cars. I certainly don't want to be the only guy having a big laugh over a big frickin' wing on a 1985 Probe or a perfectly primered Civic with bubbled window tint and a fart can welded all crooked underneath...
I'm off tomorrow and I'm going hunting for B.S.!
Sorry for switching gears on this thread, Midnight! By the way, your chick is awesome. Who wouldn't want to be stirred awake by multiple g forces? My girl would pinch my leg, she's not down for downshifts or fishtailing... Sad but true.
I freakin' love this forum, you guys take care.

I seen some shit on the road that if I could post a pic, you guys would get a real kick out those lame ass rides. V6's muscle cars (what a contradiction in terms) with hood scoops and wings, body kit carnage.
I was thinking the same thing about starting a thread where people take quick pics with their camera phone of the riced out POS.
Maybe we can put it in the Import section!
If I can snap a pic sometime soon, I will start the thread hoss.
What should we call it?

I'm glad you guys are on board for this new thread idea. I took a couple pics today. I drove by the local auto stores but didn't find anything really But I did find one at a Kroger!!! My camera is still in the car, I will upload them once we find a suitable name for the thread.
Also, should we lay some ground rules for the thread? Such as focusing on all gaudy rice and any cars, foreign or domestic with improper badges. This also includes other F-bodies, 'stangs, and 'vettes. And of course clever captions are encouraged, especially regarding which mods add how much HP.
Also, I think cars on cardomain.com are fair game. To include quotes from the respective pages (showcasing broken english) is encouraged.
One more thing, as we start to build our collection I think it would be helpful to give tips on the best places to find these cars. For instance, grocery stores, Taco Bell, car wash locations, malls/shopping centers, and auto parts stores are typically good places to look.
Anyway, here are some ideas. What do you guys think?

Damn, that is what I am talking about. I wonder if those headlights even work. A primered JC Whitney POS.
