Well tonight despite the hot WX and the 2900 DA I decided to go out to Great Lakes in Union Grove, and I am damn glad I did.

Shortly after I arrived a local/online motoring magazine brought out 4 manufacturer cars I was faster than 3 of them (bmw335i ttI6, audi S5 has a v8, and a g37s nissan), the fourth was a new viper gts. So, it was pretty cool to compare a very mild bolton ls1 to some newer stock cars.

First I ran an older 02? BMW M5, I dont know how many cars I got him by but it was bad. He was an older guy, very nice guy 1st time to the with it and was having some trouble with the clutch...........

Beat the piss out of a stock Mach1 he went 13.7 @103 vs my 13.004@108.8, didn't really get a chance to talk to him.

There were 2 s/c 04-5 gt that wouldn't run me despite my asking........they were low 13's all night.......1 on slicks, too bad would have been fun. They seemed bummed when I told them I only had headers and a cutout, as I was consistently pulling better ets then they were......

Next was a newly made friend in a Stock 00T/A........he was having a lot of trouble hooking up and trapping pretty low.......

I did get to line up with a 93 fbody.....lt1, cam, slicks, prob spraying......that was the only loss of the day. I cooked the tires and coasted to a 17 something

I need some help lowering my 60's I was consistent 2.0's but I wasn't getting too much tire spin. Maybe I am just a pussy b/c I knew I had to drive her home 60 miles.....

Invest in some damn tires and slicks man. 500 bucks tops, if you buy new. And yea, don't be a pussy, you wanna run it, shit's gonna break. No matter how you look at it, somethin's gonna go eventually. But you can drive bro. In that DA, trapping that and those ET's, thats awesome man!!!

What were the numbers on some of those cars? They new G37 is supposed to be pretty impressive.

Oh, and the Stangs, you said 04-05? When did they switch the body style? I saw a new one that was S/C'd and some other odd stuff and that thing was sick sick sick. He was losing control every shift into second. He was going 11.8s around 120 w/ major traction issues on slicks. I asked and he just said he swapped the cam, did headers and exhaust and bolted the S/C on. Not sure If i believe him but that car was nasty.....

The guys from the magazine thought the g37 was the 2nd quickest behind the viper before they ran them.

I have 245/50/16 Nitto 555R's, and I was cutting the best 60's of the street cars there. I guess that tells me somwhting, but I really want to get my 60's into the 1.8 range and get that mid 12 second pass.

I put all the WX info into a DA vs ET algorithm and It spat out 12.58@112.6 as my corrected Et/mph, although I dont know how much faith I'd put into those #'s.

I Gt's were both running centrip. S/c 's with FMIC's. I thought for sure they were going to be Eleven sec cars but was shocked to seem them running between 13.2-9 all night.

Impressive MPH on that 335i...... Real impressive. Especially in that wx.

I've noticed I get more in good wx than what those DA calc's give me. I was racin in 2000 feet yesterday when i got my 25 run. Shocked the hell out of me actually..... I didn't expect the setup to go that fast in that weather.... Corrected to a 12.9 but I guarantee you Ill be goin faster than that. You get some good tires on that car and it'll go mid 12s for sure.

12.4...... Well in a 2850 DA, yes. Its was advertised at 650bhp too!

SS- The 335 being FI makes it less effected by a bad DA since the manifold pressure isnt directly correltaed to DA, and is controlled by the wg's.

True, completely forgot about the lack of effect DA has on FI vehicles. Still impressed.... Probably a fun car to drive. As well as they're known to take corners then that bad boy can go that well in a straight line too. I think they look real knarly as well.

Yeah, they are nice looking.

The mag guys said they were having cooling probs just cruising tho....
Also the 335 get like 70 whp from an ecu flash, I bet you could get one into low 12's with just retune and removal of restrictive stock exhaust/cats and an boost controller.

I think with a reflash they put 330/380 to the wheels or something like that. (335i)
