    taurus sho vs. C6 vette

We went from a dig at a stop sign. He had a passenger and I didn't, I still ended up getting him by 4 car lenghts at 120 to 130mph. His buddy had a camcorder I was hoping he is in here so he can post the vid. Not bad for a taurus eh.

btw: if you're in here bud, that was a good race and thanks for being a sport. Usually I get the finger for beating them in a taurus .

Its got a vortech supercharger and a 50shot. Most people I race are either surprised or pissed off . Expecially mustangs, they seem to hate me for some reason.

Ahhhhh.....so she's a sleeper. That's what pisses them off. They're not into getting smoked by their mom's grocery getter. I'd like to see the looks you get after winning a race. Am glad you posted your mod's., 'cuz otherwise it would have been difficult to believe. Nice kill.

Good kill. I hear those C6 Vettes are pretty quick. Just curious, did you beat him right from the dig or reel him in? The Taurus is FWD right?

Yea, I get a big grin and sometimes I Laugh out loud by my self and pat the dash with my hand saying "good boy, good boy". And as long as no one sees me doing that I don't feel too stupid:beer3: .

Well, it was pretty even off the line. And after that i just kept gaining. Yes, its a fwd, but I've got nittos dr in the front (looks kind of dumb, but it works).

Well, its actually a pretty stong little v6 manufactured by yamaha. I rebuild it about 30,000 miles ago and have been abusing it ever since. Its putting out 450 fwh with 15lbs of boost. I've never had a problem with the engine. But i've gone through 7 trannys .

Answer to your question, i don't know how long it will last. But I've got 5 other engines to replace it when it goes. I'm going to put ported heads on my next one.

    00 Z28 sold :-(

when it's all said and done it's still a taurus...why would you put that much money into it? You coulda got a ls1...put forced induction and a shot on her...and really see what speed is. 450 whp sounds like a lot from a motor that has 200 or so stock...even with 15 psi and a 50 shot. that's a 300bhp jump from stock..what else is done to the motor?

No offense Distortion, but I have to play the Devil's advocate here. Who cares if he could've gotten by cheaper with more power by building an LS1. The thing is, not everyone wants to do what everyone else is or has done. He wants something different. That's okay with me. Hell, he's got a quick car that's American made. We should celebrate that.

----side note---- Seven trannys! Damn Ford Sucks!

Toneloc60 is right, just wanted something different. My buds kept telling me to get a mustang others told me to get a Z28. Truth is, i've owned both of those cars and I just wanted something different. I'm a family man so I wanted a 4 door. Good thing about it is, no one wants to steal a taurus. The insurance on it is cheap and the cops aren't looking at a taurus as a sports car. Its a v6 and as long as you're not into the boost, fuel economy is pretty close to a stock Sho.
