"SVT" Cobra.....lol

so today I'm in my wifes car, and this guy with an "SVT" cobra (00-04) with SVT badges and snakes all over it, pulls up beside me, and starts revving...

he goes "hey it's an svt"

i said "yeah, nice snakes"

headed out towards the highway and slowed to a roll at 30, 3 honk and we were off.

I pulled him by two cars the whole way till about 85 and i let off....

we pulled over and talked afterwards.... he said it was a regular GT (which i could've told you and hinted at from the begining; the rear bumper saying MUSTANG GT was a big tip off) with a k&n, and a chip, exhaust blah blah blah.

he asked what i was driving, i told him a contour sport se....

he said damn what exhaust do you have, whistlers?

WTF are whistlers???

maybe he didn't hear the boost, or see my real SVT badges...

her clutch is slipping BAD too....

00-04 Mustang GT's didn't say Mustang GT on the bumper did they? I thought that was 94-98 only.

I love those SVT Contours. My ex-sister-in-law had one and I loved it. Neither my brother or her knew why I always wanted to drive their car when I came over. They bought the car thinking it was a regular grocery getter.

it was custom painted, it looked good.

it was off centered as crap.

normal bumper, GT painted st the end of t.

my dad has one, bought it brand new back in 98, has had a shitload of stupid little problems with it. Still has it, just uses it for a winter beater.

yeah they do seem to have alot of bugs. but she rarelydrves ithrd o it's a good little car for her, and she drives my dd alot too

Hmmmm..... Im going with him having a v6. As his car should have been good with those tiny mods for at least a 13.9 when a contour is a 15sec car in SVT trim.

Even bad driver is no excuse for a pull to 85.

And no offense but if he painted that in there it would have seemed likely you would have called that out on the first post. I kinda look at this one sceptically

i took her contour to thunder valey in noble, and ran a 14.9......

i think if i was going to bs i would say, hey my Z beat a lp640!

not to be a smart ass but these are tests done on the cars in their "STOCK" forms.

i can drive, and the SVT has a "FEW" bolt-ons.

mustang had a filter and exhaust, and it was an auto

1999 Mustang GT 0-60 5.8 seconds 13.95 1/4

1999 Ford Contour 0-60 7.2 seconds 15.2 1/4

my v6 firebird ran mid 14's with me driving.

and btw just because someone doesn't list every detail doesn't mean they'e lying sooooo

Hmmm so I just throw up a caution flag without any other details noting that you have a mods done to a much slower car and I get a fuck you sign, and words put in my mouth. Wow grown up thing to do.

Why would most Mustang owners want a 289 Mustang??? Nothing real special there.

If you have modification then, it is different.

It would be like me posting here that my 2000 GT beat a ls1. Everyone would be on my ass for that until they knew what was done to my car.

Just a quick question wheres this boost comming from? Unless you have a supercharger or turbocharger on the contour, there should be no boost noise from a semi-stock SVT contour. good kill btw

her tranny went out today at about 4 o'clock...

and her clutch has been slipping bad, i mean HORRIBLE....

but it's fun to mess with mustang gt's in that car.

So I guess the 14.9 you ran was pre-supercharger? what kind of charger are you running?

This kill sounds legit to me if you have a supercharger....

yeah that run was about a year ago...

this was the first time i'd raced since they had the charger put on.

it's a magnacharger.

i'll get some more info on it for you today hutch.

i mean it's a nice car.... but i'd take my Z over it anyday!
