stupid people
have you ever pulled up next to someone at a stoplight and just known that they were gonna do something stupid?
I pull up next to a civic at a stoplight, I kinda figured he was gonna do something stupid, everything was set, he had a buddy with him both were 16-17, high school parking pass in the back window, late 80's hatchback with neon green rims and a fart can. well, i usually accelerate just hard enough to stay ahead of whatever is next to me, be it minivan, semi, civic... giving him the benefit of the doubt, i ease off the line, but he just had to do it... this poor bastard stomped it at around 10 and i was still in first. the furthest ahead he got was his bumper even with my door, hazards on... I laid into it and put 2 cars between us by 60. the whole time he was ahead he kept looking back to see where i was. his face was priceless when i flew past him, kinda that kicked puppy look.
Another time all together, I was changing the oil in the TA and had picked up the wrong filter (stupid people thread, damn door swings both ways) i didnt notice until i had already drained all the oil and was taking the filter out of the bag. so i take my brothers car, 86 Oldsmobile cutlass sierra, and head off to the store. mid route i pull up next to a eclipse and started to get that stupid person feeling again. being a stupid person i decide to rev, he revs, but stays reved up. light turns green and hes gone, till he hits second and KABOOM!!! fire flashes out from under his car and smoke starts pouring out. he was already through the intersection and i hadn't even crossed the starting line, so i had given up, driving past him i look over and to my surprise its that kicked puppy look, all over again.

Usually I'm in the Dakota (completely stock) when this happens, everybody always seems to want to race it, its usually some kid in a ricer or a lifted 4x, but in the TA I hardly ever have anybody do that.

I've had similar. The one I recall is a kid in some Mercedes. Prolly his Mom's. He did a ricer fly by on me... I didn't even notice him coming from behind. At the next light, he rev'd me. So I opened my cutout, and rev'd him..... I think it scared him! His face was priceless! When the light turned green, he sat there and then made a right turn!

Both of my 240s have stickers in the back window saying "VTEC JUST KICKED IN YO!". Lot's of ricers get upset..... try to flex.... and get destroyed.

My friend put ranger lightning on his ford ranger. His mods were a ehxaust tip lol
Soo many cars have variable valve timing now. I run into kids all the time that talk all big because they have v-tec when im in my legacy. I had one kid at a light go are you sure you wanna race i got v-tec, i said really i have variable valve timing too(except subaru calls it AVCS), and a turbo, and AWD. i know what you're talking about, raced my buddy with some sort of older civic hatch, decent power output on his motor considering it was a 4 cyl, and light car too
nevertheless he thought he could put up a fair fight, well i put a area code or two on him when it was all said and done
another time i raced my buddy's evo, he actually pulled me by a couple cars (his was modified pretty good)
after the race though, he admitted that he couldnt even hear his own car (thank you LT's and ORY!)
