Stock LS1 vs 05 GT?
Are there any kills for the LS1 yet? Mustang guys are saying no way LS1 wins stock vs stock. I got a buddy who rants and raves that the LS1 reign is over.

And keep in mind the LS1 came out in '98, and even a '98 would own an '05 GT.

Anyways, I got two neighbors that have 05 GTs also. They swear they kick LS1 ass and that these cars engines and 5-spd aren't the same crap as before. I know the engines are different(3valves and all). Their word is that Ford underrated them and they really are closer to 350hp.

^that's bullshit, I saw a 5sp. 2005 GT dyno 243rwhp and 251 rwtq on a dyno jet at sea level. your average LS1 dynos around 295-300 range. There is no way a new GT beats any LS1 98-2002, unless my dead grandmother is driving the LS1. Tell those stang boys to run ya and makes some x-tra christmas cash in the process.

01mmmz28,
Ya, I think I will. I think these guys are talking from 0-60. Thats all mustang owners are willing to play to around here. I need to get my SS in 3rd to show'em whose boss.

lol not even close. LS1 will walk the mustang from a roll...from a stop, a better driver in the GT could beat the ls1...but a properly driven ls1 should handle an 05 GT.

they wont even win 0-60, and you wont need 3rd gear to show them the taillights, that will happen as soon as you shift to 2nd, by the top of 3rd you can shut it down and pull into burger king, go through the drivethrough and eat your food before they catch up.
j/k, but it will be an ass-raping for the stanger boyz.

LMAO! I love you guys! I destroyed the new Stang... Most don't even wanna run cause they try to save face w/ their girl next them in the car. My opinion is he who owns a badass Camaro shouldn't look for GT's, they should look for SALEEN's. So funny how much you'd pay for one of them Stang's nowadays to.

That's true. They look good and sound good with after market exhaust but the bite is probably just as soft as they ever were. I'm gonna make the proposition for racing to my neighbor with the loudest mouth. Then maybe the block will get quiet again. He's always revving his mouse motor when he drives buy and I'm outside.

I lived mustangs for 5 years and agree that the LS1 is faster. The problem with the 05 GT is that it comes from the factory tuned for 87 octane. No performance car can have an aggressive tune on 87 octane. The people that have had their 05 GTs tuned for 93 octane run low 13s @ about 105-106 mph which would put them in the face of an LS1.
I realize that LS1s are badass cars and have raced enough of them over the years to fill a parkinglot, but some of you talk down about other cars like you have the fastest thing on the road. I look forward to running into that kid that was in diapers when my GN was built and didn't do his homework.

almost every car that wants to race on the street is moded anymore, not many of these cars are stock anymore, thats the problem that people run into when we start talking HP numbers cause you simply do not have a clue about shit anymore. my car can sound totally stock and looks totally stock.
but is camed and internals upgraded along with my transmission to go along with it. its a 400hp car, but looks stock and sounds stock. you just cant tell anymore.
