SRT-8 (mine) vs. LS-1 SS Camaro
After filling up the tank I asked 2 guys in a nice LS-1 SS if they had some time to make a couple of runs. He had intake and exhaust cut-outs and "nothing big". I think he said intake but the exhaust was REALLY loud. Sounded a lot like Gigliotti's Corvette in Speed GT!!
Both were from a roll. The 1st time we both banged off the rev limiter but because my automatic is so sluggish to react, he squirted about 2 CL ahead and then it we ran "even" (not catching or falling behind).
2nd time again in 1st gear I got about 2 CL ahead and then "even" again. We waved/thumbs up and went on our way.
I would say it's a drivers race with the 2 cars. I'm not claiming a kill and could debate all night about my air being on-heat soak, his windows open, 2 passengers (not big guys) vs. my full tank and 210lbs, etc. etc.
It was fun and we only went up to about 80mph or so.

Silver- 06 Charger SRT-8
I was just getting 2.0s and it felt good 1st through 2nd but in 3rd it felt like I hit a wall, slower than when on the street.
My friend's CTS-V w/ intake, corsa and tune was running 13.5s at 104-105mph.
My excuses: too low tire pressure (dash warning light was on), strong headwind, too much gas in the tank, 100octane mixed w/ 91 (does nothing for the SRT-8s), let the motor cool too much instead at optimum temp, etc. etc.
Can't wait to go again...

Good run. I haven't come up against an STR-8 yet, but from your times you'd give me a good run. Kudos.

Is there a diff in a SRT-8 Charger and those Charger Daytona's w/ the black spoilers? (Hey, at least I know you're not a Neon!)

HUGE suspension/tire/wheel/brake difference. 425hp 6.1 in the SRT-8, 350hp 5.7 in the Daytona. Handling more significant than the HP upgrade.
A 20" wheel option is coming in '07 for the RT/Daytona but the SRT-8s have Bilsteins front/Sachs rear, lowered .5", Brembos and Goodyear F1s available. 245 front/255 rear on 20s" standard.

My friend's dad has a new SRT8 Charger. They make the regular Chargers look so lame. On another note, some guy who has a black one around here keeps eyeing me and revving at me. I cant wait to meet him with open road.

Ok, gotta voice my opinion... I hate the look of the "chargers"... they dont look good at all. the challenger will be a lot better looking car and more of what the charger should look like. I like the charger for a 4 door sedan that is also fast, but they should have called if the Intrepid GTS or something, its NOT a charger.

I lik ethe charger as a replacement rather than the car that replaces teh Neon!! That thing is heavy and ugly!!!!

IMHO, the SRT8 charger has got to be one of the meanest looking cars that is being made today. It was on my short list this january when I was looking to replace my crown vic, but the price was just a little more than I was willing to pay at the time.
I've seen two on the streets locally but have never had the pleasure of runnig one.
