They're only building 1000, does anybody really believe you will be able to buy one for $55k? Give me a break, all 1000 will go to VIP collector types. There may be one well tuned unit sent to the mags for testing to show some big numbers to get the Ford boys all wooded up, then you'll never see one on the street or at the track.

I agree. Def collector cars.
Check out the pins in the hood, and the hood scoops. I like the wheels better too.
Supposedly it makes a little more power stock than the GT500, but it is like the LS1 SS vs. LS1 Z28 argument. Sure, it has some different body stuff, and a few aftermarket "stock" mods to make a little more power than the "run of the mill" GT500, but they are really the same car.
I am sure with CAI and full exhaust on both, they will make the same power and be just as fat.

Black- 2004 Mustang Cobra
It needs to lose at least 500 lbs.
My car (fat pig) weighs 3600, the GT500 ~2 tons.
With all the Fed regs and the like it's tough to get a car of that size to a decent weight. Using more aluminum and composite parts like the Z06 would be out of the question when you're trying to build a fast affordable car. Then there's the bean counters.
