SIM w/ CGM Stripes- 2010 camaro 2SS/RS
Met a Challenger owner- Stock RT runs 9's
did you know stock RT's run 9's?
Im trading mt car in!!! lol
the story...
When i was driving home this evening saw a white RT so i thought id take a look... started chatting with the owner. Of course i have my Camaro hoody on, he asks so i tell him what i drive. we go on chit chatting... says he has a cold air box? lol guess its the new name for CAI...
he asks the hp on mine... well its stock so 426hp
i tell him not bad, its fast... 13.0 in the 1/4 or better..
"oh yea? that slow" the guy is dead serious.."mine runs 9's"
i ask him... are you sure? only upgrade is a CAI and it runs 9's
guy was dead serious.... "yea bro.. 9's"
lol i just went along with it...
just so happens that as soon as i leave my buddy with an RT calls and wants to meet up....//// race.
he is always boasting how his RT is faster... right.
soo he goes on and hes telling me he got a tune and a CAI and got +80hp...
kinda think thats bs.
but i think i need one of those tunes!
MAGICAL cold air box!

It's a damn shame when someone only knows of an 1/8th mile track!

I met a guy with a challenger a while back, he said it ran i think 11's all day long and it was stock, with big ole 20's on it. He's from around here, but i havent gotten a chance to race him yet. He was serious too. I had a woman with a 300c try to convince me she could take anything on the highway..uhg...

blacker than wesleysnipes- 98' trans am
just to let you know ..a cold air intake and a tune depending on the application could get you 30+ ..especially those restrictive p.o.s intake tracts on the dodges ...mind you for our cars a lid replacement shows 10rwhp or close too..so imagine replacing the stock box and getting a aggressive tune...so i would cut out the teasing on cold air intakes and tunes..as 13.0 isnt all that fast ( i cant remember if you said how fast you ran in the 1/4 or not)
they run stock 13.5 according to motor trend ...so you can do the math...you could end up eating your words if he ever races you at the track..wont be 9 seconds thoLast edited by shady milkman; 03-30-2010 at 10:08 AM.

true, but... motor trend always turns slower numbers. caranddriver is about the most accurate imo and has turned 13.0-13.1 quarter numbers. but then again hell it could be testing conditions,blah,blah..... i agree on a good tune tho. didnt Frost get like 50whp outta a stock or near stock ls3?

Challengers are mostly purchased by older guys/girls apparently. Every one I have seen has been a white haired guy, or middle aged woman driving it. They are pretty slow unless they are modded heavily. To the OP good story. I met an LS1 Trans Am driver at the track the other day with just a lid who said he ran 10's.

unless it is the dodge track pack. which is supposed to be quicker but i dont remember seeing 9s anywhere on the ads. he probably thought the ford track pack and dodge track pack are the same thing.

Great looking cars. Back east they were being modified and dipping into the 11's.
Out here in AZ I haven't seen a fast one yet. Last track day I raced at there was a 6.1 version that couldn't get out of the 14's.
