ls1 vs mustang gt
i ran my 2000 6speed z28 against a 2003 5speed mustang gt yesterday.....on my way home from work some guy in a mustang pulled up beside me, downshifted and gunned it a few times to get my attention...noticing he had a 30 day tag i thought ...what the hell why not...took off @ 25 mph ...i was in 2nd gear....i pulled him pretty hard to the top of 2nd....then i noticed a car in front of me(left lane) instead of slowing down i passed on the center lane...then swirved over 2 lanes in front of the mustang???? it took me 1 gear to pull that hard on that thing......he pulled beside me at a light and asked what i had....i told him just a catback and he said BS & turned off...he had atleast exhaust aswell.....im not a gearhead by any measn....so i dont know much about camaros vs mustangs....most of my friends say mustangs are faster.....then why the hell did i pull away from him like he was tied to a stump??? just really curious...and it cant all be the driver cause i dont beat on my car...i was granny shiftn like a motha*****

2003 = 2v stang = reaalllly slow. almost honda slow
2005 to current is a 3 valve which is faster, and will keep up till about 60mph
03-04 mach1's are 4v's and are the quickest n\a stang, they keep up the best. but if you know how to drive you'll still beat those too.

Sounds about right I ran an 07 or 08 Mustang GT at the track and got him by 11/2 lenght and 2 lenghts on 2 races the 3rd was about 1/2 qa car lenght but I spun badly on the start and I have a cat back only so stock. I run 13.84 at 102 mph on a warm muggy day

Mach 1 is a decent race for a LS car. The 2 valve GT should get their ass handed to fairly easy!
