    Late model 5.0

Was getting on the freeway the other day on a two-lane onramp and there was a new Mustang GT about 1 and a half lengths ahead of me in the other lane. The driver directly in front of me was driving Miss Daisy, so I pulled around into the other lane behind the Mustang. Just as I did, the Mustang driver nailed the throttle. Since I was already overtaking Miss Daisy, I was at about half throttle, and I was curious if my car could keep up. So rolled on to WOT in 1st.

At the very beginning, the Mustang opened the gap by about 1/100th of a car length (very small) and then the acceleration was even up to 3rd gear. I'm not certain, but I think my 2-3 shift (which was pretty smooth) may have opened the gap a little bit more. I don't know whether the Mustang was an auto or not, but I shifted twice, and was unable to hear where/when the Mustang shifted. When I shifted into 3rd, his rpms just kept climbing (so I'm assuming he was in 3rd before I was). I had to let off the gas at this point in order to make the upcoming merge safely.

If we had started side by side, he probably would have won by a nose.

Way too many po-po out your way to play. I'd be driving Ms. Daisy myself.

It’s funny but I never get challenged by a Corvette, Mustang or Camaro. I figure most of the owners know that these 4th gens aren’t all that hard to make as fast or faster than their cars.

5.0's are piss slow, driven by sissy little nerds with inferior complexes, that got beat up a lot in high school. Nice kill.
