intresting stang kill? tell me what u guys think

So its been awhile since ive posted here...been way to busy trying to get my ws6 back on the road (i have a lovely looking snaped crank right now), and ive been doing a suspension conversion on my challenger so time for racing has been slim and zilch latley. But Monday night i managed to get out of my garage long enough to ride with my buddy in his 98 Mustang GT. We were going to meet his g/f for dinner in Fredrick MD. His cars a light bolt on, near stock car... hes got cold air intake, upgraded clutch, pro 5.0 short shift, off x pipe, dual flowmaster 40s series, not alot by any means but this ones still got me wondering. We get on I-70 in fredrick and were crusing a good 60 65 and a 06 stang gets up along side us...instantly can see its a 6 cylinder. Next thing i know the son of a bitch jumps and starts pulling on us like crazy, my buddy drops 4th (shoulda gone 3rd but he wasnt quite ready for this thing) and we just barley started realing him back in when we came up to our exit and he had to let out... How the hell are those 6 bangers that powerful? Im about matched with him in my LT1 so it makes me wonder if id have done any better? At any rate i gotta say im impressed... they still got a long way before there in LS-1 (or as soon as i get mine done LS-6) territory. Either way fun night cause now i can rip on him he got beet by a 6 banger. Tell me what you guys think

its a 4.0 6cyl and i think its rated at 220 horse....vs 260 horse with light bolt ons ..so maybe 280-290...then dropping in the wrong gear......i can see how it would happen....in my 99z 6 speed i did the same thing against a 00-01 audi s4 on the expressway...doin about 75-80 i went 4th instead of 3rd and he walked me....prolly wasnt a stock s4 but still..shoulda took him on the highway...your buddy woulda walked all over him pretty easily had he been in 3rd to start

Its not only that the V6 'stang was so powerful, its that the V8 'stang was so weak. A '98 GT only has 225hp stock with his mods like 240ish. And the new V6 makes 210hp. So pretty close - thus the close race. The GT should pull on the V6 and it would've if he had the right gear.

Oh and an LT1 would walk a V6 stang. End of story.

ok lol, that makes a little more sence... my lt1 can pretty much rock his ass on the highway any day but that thing pulled him about like i do at that speed so thats what worried me. Either way it dosent bother me because he knows he cant touch my WS6...even if it is blown up lol. One month to go and i should have some more kills out of it... im gonna drive it a week or two before the weather gets bad then shes going in the garage till next summer. Im hoping for 600 hp to the rear wheels the next time i get it on the dyno! cant wait.
