I got killed last night

I was on the High way, and i was doing about 65, then a beautifull 67 Camaro gets next to me the driver was in his mid 40's then nods. then I nodded, I downshited to 4th and I start the honks, all i heard after that was his tires chirping at 65MPH! and he was gone, he got three cars on me right away and it stayed like that till 130 thats when i gave cause i was going to get locked at 140 and he was about 4 cars ahead, man was i beat, but i didnt mind though because it was Old School. He then made the turn where i was going to turn so we pull over and chat. He had a LS7 Stroked all N/A he was pushing 650RWHP. I said nice and then i took off defeated.

I'd love to see that car! Sounds like a real cool guy reaping the rewards of building a nasty car like that. There isn't much out there that will beat him. Consider yourself lucky for having that experience.

Yeah after you hit 140 the fuel pump shuts off and re-activates at 125-130 i think its a factory safety thing, or the speed limiter.

Huh? I've hit a little above wherer he factory speedo shows to (like 155-160) and no lockout/ shutoff...??? I'm pretty damn sure my car doesn't have any tune either.

i think the fbodys that came with the non-z rated tires have the top speed limiter on em. i've had mine over 140 before my tune

btw- very nice death! why'd you go to 4th at 65? you got 4.10s?

Yep.. z rated tired cars didn't get the limiter... non zs did...

what gears do you have??

Why not shift to 3rd gear at 65mph??

My car tops out 3rd at around 104- 105 ish....??

(Stock gears)

Honestly I dont know why i did it. i wanted to get a jump. It all happened to quick because this was my first Old School Muscle that i was going to race. and I dont know what gear sizes my car has probably stock. I know the previous owner has surprised me with stuff I had found on the engine.

you never know what your gonna get when you have those older muscle cars roll up on you usually in any case its never pretty.

There was a how a little while back.. on Speed I think.. that they were dynoing stock engines from the 60s.. like the 427s etc.. and they got up to the 60s Hemi 427... 872 HP!!!

From the stock engine! Can you say UNDERRATED?!?!?!?!

i saw that thing to, it was amazing. i know what im going to do if onw of those cars pull up next to me.

i doubt it was untouched whatever they say.

426 Hemi's generally trapped 107's.

I agree with Trickstang, highly doubt it was untouched. I will race anything that gets next to me, win or lose it is still fun in my opinion. I like most cars just not all of them.

it might depend on your state, and the type of tires they came with, but most is 140 and the only times that ive done that were during that race and whenver i go down to mexico for the weekend.

It should be 160 cause I've had mine up to 155 before and didn't cut off.

I would have been proud to have been beat by an old school Camaro like his. The LS7 is a bad engine so don't sweat it too much. He's got a lot of money in his car.
