Primer Black- 1994 Supra
got killed horribly
My 03 Cobra got killed today on the way to work.. now it might as well be stock if it weren't for the front clip swap to make it a salvage title vehicle. i have NO2 but i was out.. i'm driving along on highway 72 towards madison alabama and a black Solstice non GXP pulls up to me.. he revs and i have to take a second look as that was no 4 cylinder.. he drops gears and pulls back up along side so i do the same.. he honks 3 times and we take off.. i held my end until 90 when he just started pulling length after length on me.. what the hell? so i follow him a bit now were in traffic and i see him pull into a walgreens so i pull in to. I ask him what is really under the hood. He opens it up.. Brand new less that 1k miles on it LS3.. wow what the HP difference in the LS3 and LS2 by the way?

Wow -- sneaky little setup in the Solstice. Well, sneaky until you hear it! HAHA!
That's a respectable death to say the least.

BLACK- 2000 Camaro SS
LS2's in the vette were rated at 400 hp. LS3's in the vette are rated at 430 hp

Yea there is a company here in cleveland that does conversions like that for the solstice and sky roadsters. They had one at the auto show with an LS7

Pewter- Y2K WS6
The LS3 ( for the guy who asked) is much more like the LS7 in feel than it is the LS2 higher rev limiter and they just pull so damn hard. I drove a vette after it came out with a computer tune and the rest of the car stock, compared to my full bolt ons t/a i was very impressed.
The LS7 is really not wort the expense now that the LS3 is out.. and the LS3 leaves room for a super charger/turbo setup where the high compression ratio of the LS7 makes it much trickier.
lastly an LS3 with just a cam can be well over 500 RWHP so it was a very righteous death.

Mallet is company your thinking of with the ls7, http://www.mallettcars.com/solstice-conversion.htm they were the first company to do any v8 swaps. Pretty badass conversions for what they are.

I would have had to fight the temptation to hit him over the head with something and take his car

It's kind of funny now, i remember the look on my face when i heard the v8.. it was kind of a mix between drinking old beer and shooting yourself in the foot it was just a big surprise
