first run in with a G8
so last night i went to pick up a buddy of mine from work and on the way home i just see these bright white lights coming up on my mirrors and i see it slow down close to me, and then i see it, G8! it sounds mean by the way! so i gain up next to HER, and she starts laughing as to say mine is better, so i kicked the gas a little to let her know it was on, we did a run from a 40 and i was ahead by half a car when she let off going about 95ish.....all i have done is the free ram air so it was a good night

that didn't take long.. I was wondering when someone would race one.
I've seen 3 at dealers-- and one at Sheetz- (it was actually one of the three at the dealership)-- He just bought it.
Nice run.

Given the rated 361 HP and the almost 2 ton curb weight, the G8 runs VERY good, IMHO.

Motor Trend went 13.7 @ 104 mph. For comparisons, the same rag took a 350 HP 2004 GTO to a 13.85 @ 101 mph, a 400 HP 2005 GTO to a 13.3 @ 106 mph, and a 2000 WS6 to a 13.5 @ 107 mph.
The interesting thing is, the G8 is significantly heavier than each of those, has 4 doors, and is cheaper, too. An impressive car, IMHO.

I'm seriously considering the G8 right now. I get a GM supplier discount thru work plus 1000 bux loyalty or something so it works out pretty nice.

I haven't gotten a real quote yet so I can't say for sure, but building it online was like 28500, then the 1k off and I think there is a couple grand cash back right now? So I was figuring around 25500 before tax and tags. I'm going to look for a dealer on mon.

My TBSS tuner got one of the first ones. He ran a 13.39@104 bone stock, yes the air was good. Then did a quick tune on it at the track and went 13.1@107. Then strapped the 100 shot to it, tuned it up and went 12.5@111. They perform awesome for what they are and word is exhaust is very restrictive and they're tuned for 87 from the factory so a lot stands to be gained from a tune. I think they're cool for the price tag, but the back of it has to grow on me quite a bit.

They are pretty nice.Except for the red knight rider oil and water guage in the middle of the dash. Also the digital speedo plus a regular speedo is kinda wierd.

Nice kill! When it's time for me to get a 4-door car, I think I've found the top of my "want list"! I think the G8 is a sharp looking ride and it should respond relatively well to mods. All-in-all, it's a nice, cost effective alternative to the CTS-V.

The new Pontiac 4 door grocery getter that screams! Sharp looking car in my opinion and it has balls!
